Environment Awareness Program (2022)

The Society calls for an action to combat the accelerating degradation of the natural world on June 5, 2022 as part of the celebration of World Environment Day. As such, for the implementation of the activity and observance of the day, WWS team contacted and collected 400 saplings, including Bokul, Korol, Azar and Sonari trees from the Department of Forestry, Sub office Dimapur. Beside these, WWS has also purchased 4600 saplings so that each village can plant at least 1000 saplings.

The Council members, Youth Leaders and Women Leaders from the five villages; Khriezephe, Diezephe, Tsithrongse, Bade and Urra joint hands for the plantation drive to acknowledge the importance of nature to our health, our economics and our societies. The organization- WWS would like to acknowledge the Department of Forestry for providing the saplings and also the people from the villages who participated in the implementation of the initiated activity without which the observance of World Environment Day would not have been possible.
