The activities for the year started with the team motivating the farmers to work together to address developmental issues. Through constant meetings and field visits, many of the farmers had taken up various agriculture and allied activities.
During the meetings and workshops, the members of the Organization had stressed the importance of mixed cropping/inter cropping and crop rotation, application of organic manure to sustain and balance the soil nutrients. More focus was also given on water harvesting and on the different schemes available with the Government for the farmers.
With increased participation from the farmers, it has been noticed that they have started putting their learning into practice by growing different varieties of crops throughout the year. They had also started selling vegetable products in the weekly markets of the area.
The Organization also observed that many farmers had started augmenting their income by rearing chickens, ducks and goats and selling them in the markets.
